Rancière: A Questioning of Speeches in Defense of Minorities

In the present article we analyze two discourses coming from political philosophy, one communitarian and the other liberal, represented by Charles Taylor and Will Kymlicka respectively, of which we use to show that based on universalist principles and identities their pretensions of justice and social equity can be questioned in favor of cultures or minority groups. For this purpose we use the notions of subjectification and identification, as well as politics and police that were proposed by Jacques Rancière, as categories of analysis.
